Kubes Navaratnam is the Managing Partner at Nava Wilson LLP. Inspired to practice law as a result of injustices in Sri Lanka, Vinthan earned his LLB at the Université Laval, where he served as the VP of La Revue Juridique de l’Université Laval (Law Review), followed by his Masters of Law and Doctor of Law at the Université de Sherbrooke. Vinthan has also drafted, reviewed and negotiated numerous contracts and commercial leases for properties owned by Oxford, Smart Centres, Colliers, Strathallen etc. He has conducted reviews of franchise disclosure documents and negotiations on behalf of franchisees for numerous franchises, including Royal Lepage, Re/Max, Pizza Pizza, Eggsmart, Hero Burger, Dominion Lending Centres etc. Vinthan has closed over 100 Asset and Share Purchase transactions, ranging from x-ray clinics to small-medium businesses, reverse takeovers, and the purchases of Independent Health Facility licenses and commercial properties. Vinthan Asokanathan is a Corporate Lawyer at Nava Wilson LLP, and has served as a solicitor for a broad range of corporate matters, spanning 200+ corporate files. She still considers this to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her role.
Gathya was driven to become a lawyer when she realized how versatile and powerful a law degree could be to protect the rights of individuals. She also participates on panels at the University of Toronto Scarborough addressing these topics, and in the programming of the York Region Youth Leadership Program.

The series focuses on getting into law school, the law school experience and balancing the challenges of practicing as a lawyer. Inspired by her experiences as a student at York University and then the University of Windsor, Gathya co-founded a workshop series in 2016 to help address the unique experiences of aspiring and current law students who are visible minorities.
Gathya is a passionate advocate for equitable access to education.
